1. The principle
Booklino is a tool for taking appointments. We do not want to police how you run your business, and this policy is not an invitation to do so. It exists because a booking platform can be used to harm the people who book through it, to defraud them, or to damage the service for everyone else. Those are the things this policy prohibits.
This policy forms part of the Terms of Service.
2. What you must not do
Unlawful services. You must not use Booklino to offer or arrange anything illegal in the Netherlands or in the country where you operate. This includes unlicensed medical, dental or veterinary procedures; the supply of prescription medicines or controlled substances; and any service requiring a licence or registration you do not hold.
Harm and exploitation. You must not use Booklino in connection with sexual services involving coercion or anyone under 18, human trafficking, or any service that exploits or endangers a child or a vulnerable adult.
Deception. You must not:
- impersonate another business, use their name or trade mark, or set up a booking page designed to be mistaken for theirs;
- advertise prices, durations or qualifications you do not intend to honour;
- take deposits with no intention of providing the service, or use the deposit mechanism as a way of collecting money for something else;
- publish fake reviews or testimonials, or photographs of work that is not yours.
Misusing customer data. The customer records in your account exist so that you can serve those customers. You must not sell or rent them, use them for unrelated marketing without a lawful basis and a way to opt out, or add people to your Booklino customer list who never asked to deal with you. Do not use the notes field for information you have no business recording.
Content. You must not publish on your page any content that is unlawful, that infringes someone else’s copyright or trade mark, that harasses or defames a person, that is sexually explicit, or that promotes violence or hatred against a group. Photographs of identifiable people require their permission.
Technical abuse. You must not attempt to break, overload or circumvent the service. Specifically: no probing or scanning for vulnerabilities other than under section 4; no automated scraping of the platform; no attempt to reach another business’s data; no circumventing plan limits, rate limits or the paywall; no reselling Booklino as your own product without a written agreement.
Payments. You must not use the payment features to process transactions unrelated to appointments booked through Booklino, to launder money, or in breach of your agreement with Stripe.
3. How we enforce this
Where we can, we will contact you first, explain the problem and give you a reasonable chance to fix it. Where the breach is serious (an immediate risk to a customer, suspected fraud, a legal obligation, or a demand from a payment provider) we may suspend the account first and explain afterwards.
When we suspend an account, your existing confirmed bookings stay visible to you so that you can honour or cancel them and tell the customers involved. We will not silently cancel appointments your customers are relying on.
Repeated or deliberate breaches lead to closure of the account under section 8 of the Terms of Service. We may also be required to report certain conduct to the authorities.
4. Reporting a problem
If you believe a Booklino booking page is breaching this policy, including one impersonating your business, email [email protected] with the address of the page and what is wrong with it. We investigate every report.
Security researchers: we welcome reports of vulnerabilities. Report them to the same address before disclosing them anywhere else. If you act in good faith, stay within the boundaries of your own test account, do not access other people’s data, and do not degrade the service, we will not pursue you for the technical-abuse rules above.
5. Changes
We may update this policy as we learn about new kinds of misuse. Material changes are announced by email to account holders. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
